Responsibility:
  • To oversee and support the faculty in imparting the Diploma course, provide inputs based on observations to faculty development plans
  • To ensure that all activities in the academic sites follow the academic calendar with quality;
  • To update the module as required, impart teaching, support the instructors and train them for acquiring both pedagogical and clinical skills;
  • To facilitate mentoring sessions of the academic sites, provide inputs to the mentors to develop the succession plans;
  • To provide on-the-job training and identify needs for capacity building in individual teaching staffs;
  • To ensure that practical training takes place as planned and students have the scope to practice as per their lesson plan;
  • To support students through instructors to overcome individual crisis, arrange special support to students with special needs;
  • Carry out any other activities as and when assigned by the supervisor.
Education Requirement:
  • BSc  in Nursing from a reputed Nursing college/ Institute or BSc in Nursing with additional degree in Midwifery;
Additional Requirement:
  • BSc  in Nursing from a reputed Nursing college/ Institute or BSc in Nursing with additional degree in Midwifery;
  • Only female candidates are allowed to apply;
  • At least 3 years of teaching experience in any reputed nursing  college/institutions;
  • Capable of  undertaking frequent field visits;
  • Ability to organize work under pressure & set priorities;
  • Good command of English;
  • Excellent communication & interpersonal skills;
  • Computer literacy is essential.

The goal of the School is not only to impart knowledge but also to act as a center of excellence in knowledge creation through research and training that connects with practice. The BRAC James P Grant School of Public Health, BRAC University has been developing competent and compassionate Midwives to improve the maternal and neonatal health in Bangladesh through the 3 years Diploma course at seven Academic Sites with support from the Government of Bangladesh since 2012 under the Developing Midwifery Project, funded by the UK government. We are looking for a Senior Instructor for this project.
